The Center for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development at the University of Sulaimani is dedicated to enhancing the quality of higher education by empowering postgraduate scholars—MA and PhD holders—with essential teaching skills, knowledge and attitudes.

Our programs focus on modern pedagogical methods, including student-centered learning, digital literacy, and reflective practice, in alignment with international standards such as the Bologna Process.
Through comprehensive training, we aim to develop innovative, effective, and ethical educators who are prepared to meet the evolving needs of both academia and the local and global workforces.

Mission
Our mission is to empower postgraduate scholars—MA and PhD holders—with the pedagogical skills and competences necessary to become effective, reflective, and innovative university educators. We are committed to advancing teacher professional development by shifting from a traditional, teacher-centered model to a student-centered paradigm, where active learning, digital competence, and real-world applicability are at the core of the teaching process. Through a comprehensive, competence-based curriculum, we prepare educators to meet the challenges of modern academia, promoting active citizenship, employable skills, and lifelong learning that will contribute to the societal and economic growth of the Kurdistan Region.
